It’s been a busy and memorable summer at Style Acre, filled with opportunities to connect, explore and celebrate together.
Alongside enjoying simple seasonal pleasures such as spending time in the garden and evening walks, people across Style Acre have taken part in a variety of exciting day trips and holidays, both close to home and further afield.
Our Active Travel guided walks attracted fantastic participation throughout the summer, while the Superhero Tri gave people the chance to achieve incredible personal milestones. Participants walked, wheeled, ran, swam and cycled their way around the course, demonstrating determination, teamwork and a true sense of achievement.
We were also delighted to be part of several much-loved local events, including Walled Gardens of Wallingford, RokeFest, Truck Festival and many others. Closer to home, our Midsummer Soirée brought people together for a wonderful evening of delicious food, refreshing drinks, live music and great company.
After a number of weather-related postponements, we were thrilled to finally host our much-anticipated Big Picnic in early September. Set in the beautiful surroundings of Howbery Park, the event provided a fantastic opportunity for people from across Style Acre to catch up with old friends, make new connections and enjoy a relaxing day outdoors.
A special thank you goes to Cycling Without Age Wallingford, whose volunteers provided fun-filled rides around the park at the picnic, bringing smiles and creating lasting memories for everyone involved.
As summer comes to an end, we look back on a season packed with achievement, friendship and community spirit. We’re now looking forward to everything autumn has in store – our What’s On calendar can be found here.
