Style Acre is overjoyed to have won the Charity and Community Award at the Oxfordshire Business Awards earlier this month. The Award celebrates charities that are fulfilling their charitable aims and having a positive impact on people they support, as well as recognising great management, community involvement and the commitment of staff.
Style Acre’s mission is to provide supportive, creative and dynamic environments where people with learning disabilities and/or autism are valued as equals, can fulfil their potential and live the life they choose. The charity’s person-centred support turns this vision into reality.
Style Acre CEO Chris Ingram said: ‘This award is fantastic recognition for our brilliant support teams and amazing colleagues whose commitment and compassion make our work possible. Most importantly, it celebrates the incredible achievements of the people we support, who show every day that with the right support, anything is possible’.
Style Acre has been making a difference to people with learning disabilities across the county for over 30 years and currently supports 273 people. People are supported to live independently in supported living houses and to pursue their interests at hubs in Banbury, Didcot and Wallingford. Through a Work Programme, Garden Project and social enterprises, people gain opportunities to work, volunteer and develop skills. Alongside this, a Ways to Wellness Programme supports physical and emotional wellbeing through accessible activities, resources and peer support. Find out more here.
Amanda Dandridge from Greatest Hits Radio, sponsors of the Charity and Community award said ‘Congratulations to Style Acre winner of the Charity & Community Award sponsored by Greatest Hits Radio. We hope you enjoy this well-deserved recognition. We visited Style Acre’s Didcot hub during the judging process and it was lovely to meet people supported by the charity and employees to hear all about the opportunities and support people with learning disabilities and/or autism can access’.
