Style Acre raises £16,500 in the Feel Good Food Hall at Truck Festival 2024
Local Oxfordshire charity Style Acre, which supports over 270 adults with learning disabilities and autism across the county, has raised over £16,500 selling Chilli and Nacho’s to hungry festival goers at this year’s Truck Festival at Hill Farm in Steventon.
The festival is attended by 25,000 people and this year’s lineup saw Idles, Jamie T, Wet Leg and Streets headline the Truck Stage over 4 nights. Truck is committed to promoting, supporting and engaging with the local community and have raised over £660,000 for local charities and community groups in Oxfordshire since 2014 and this was Style Acre’s second year in the Feel Good Food Hall.
Truck’s famous Feel Good Food Hall is entirely run by volunteers and is a staple of the Festival with 10+ local charities and over 150 volunteers producing delicious, home cooked tasty meals to those attending. All profits go to the charities in the Feel Good Food Hall and each charity has the opportunity to raise awareness for their cause.
There were 32 Style Acre volunteers who sold a staggering 3000 portions of Chilli and Nacho’s. It was very hot and hard work, but everyone had great fun. There were three teams working over the weekend including people supported by Style Acre who helped and got involved with cooking, serving, taking money and enjoying the festival.
Style Acre Ambassador Grace, who is supported by the Style Acre, volunteered over the weekend and said “She loved being at Truck Festival, seeing live bands and helping to make so much money for Style Acre. It’s one of the best summer music festivals in Oxfordshire”.
Style Acre’s Fundraising Manager, Anne-Marie Hicks, said: “It is amazing being part of the Feel Good Food Hall working alongside other charities. Not only are we able to raise much needed funds it also helps raise the charity’s profile while allowing people we support to take part in events with the local community, and most importantly to have lots of fun. The money raised will make a real difference to the people we support, and we are very grateful to Truck Festival for their support.
