This year Element Six helped to give our charity shop a makeover through Anglo American Group Foundation and De Beers Group ‘Ambassadors for Good’ (AfG) programme.
Element Six (E6), part of the De Beers Group, was successful in its application to the ‘Ambassadors for Good’ programme, securing £5,000 funding for Style Acre’s Social Work Programme Enhancement project. The project enabled Style Acre to refurbish the charity shop and for the Green Acre Garden Maintenance team to purchase some essential new tools for their garden work.
The team at Element Six, a world-leading provider of synthetic diamonds and tungsten carbide solutions, based on the Harwell Science Campus, came along to the shop a couple of weekends ago to help decorate and reorganise the shop to improve the environment for those that work there and our customers.
We are grateful for their support and their Ambassador for Good programme that enabled us to purchase fixture and fittings and new storage. The shop looks amazing, and we are really pleased with how it looks. Much brighter and more open.
The team spent some time painting which has made the shop look well cared for and light and bright. The team painted the shop window frames and internal fixtures. It has made a huge difference and the people we support have commented on how nice the space is and so many of the customers have said how nice it is looking.
The team also helped to take down and move two large bookshelves which were at the back of our window display, this has brought so much light into the shop and created a much nicer space. Making everything white, light and bright showcases our items for sale so much better and having more display areas, enables more items to be seen and hopefully purchased.
We are delighted with everything that has been achieved by this project and are grateful for the support of Element Six and the Ambassador for Good programme.
