Congratulations Holly our 2025 London Marathon runner
Congratulations to our London Marathon 2025 runner, Holly, who completed it in just over 7 hours.
Holly said ‘it was good but very hot, especially at the start. Advice was to take it slower than usual and we had shower stations throughout the course. Unfortunately this meant the combination of the heat and damp feet meant I developed blisters pretty early on. I could feel them but they weren’t too bad, until they popped at around 17 miles. They were really painful so I had to walk the rest of the way. I got them taped up at a first aid tent but they were still painful! I got 7hours 21mins in the end, longer than I would’ve hoped but the weather and blister combination didn’t make it easy. The support and atmosphere was amazing, and it was so cool to be running through the city.’
We can’t believe how lucky Holly was with the weather even though it caused a few blisters for her near the end.
On top of all the training Holly has committed to, she has done a wonderful job of fundraising. She has now raised an amazing £2,000. This money will go towards our ongoing support to people with learning disabilities and/or autism. If you would like to donate to Holly please click here
Our second runner Lorraine unfortunately sprained her ankle and was unable to complete the marathon, we hope you are healing well.
