Celebrating achievements at our annual awards evening at SABRe in Banbury
Last week we held our annual awards evening at our Banbury community hub, SABRe. Where we celebrated the achievements of those within our community over the past year. The awards evening is one of the highlights of the year and this year we celebrated the following achievements:
- paid and voluntary work both within Style Acre and with external organisations.
- community contribution. A new award that recognises individuals’ contribution to their local community and other charities.
- work within Style Acre’s new sustainable medal making social enterprise
- new comer.
- acts of kindness.
- helpfulness to others.
It was a pleasure to give out so many awards and to recognise everyone’s hard work. The eagerly awaited ‘Achiever of the Year’ award this year went to Lydia. Lydia has had so many personal achievements over the year. She has been working hard learning about how she can safely go out locally on her own without the need for support and has enjoyed putting this into practice, going to church, the hairdressers, work and PT sessions.
At Style Acre it is extremely important for people we support to be involved in all aspects of the organisation and Lydia has helped to rewrite our Complaints procedure and H&S paperwork and delivered a presentation at one of our managers meetings.
Lydia also secured her second work placement this year and has been going to regular work experience days across different teams at Contact Web. They say “Lydia has been a wonderful part of our workplace, always positive, eager to learn, and full of energy. Her enthusiasm and confidence continue to shine every week, and we’re so proud to see how much she has grown over the past year.”
Huge congratulations to Lydia on receiving this well-deserved award.
Thank you to the Rotary Club of Banbury and W23 Photography for all your support in making this event happen. We couldn’t have done it without you.
