Style Acre seeks new Trustees to join the board

Trustee for Style Acre, a person-centred charity supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism in Oxfordshire

Style Acre supports 288 adults with learning disabilities and autism throughout Oxfordshire. People we support are given the freedom and independence to live with their peers in a supportive environment through supported living, community day hubs, and our work programme. We are rated ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator for adult health and social care services.

We pride ourselves on being a values based and driven charity and are looking to broaden the skills within the Trustee team to drive the charity forward.

In particular, we are looking for individuals with one of the following expertise: a recognised accountancy qualification, legal expertise, or fundraising experience. First time trustees are welcome.

Role of a Trustee

We are looking for committed and motivated individuals aligned to our vision to create communities where people with learning disabilities and Autism are valued as equals and to our values of caring, respect, honesty, ambition, and collaboration.

The role of a Trustee is voluntary and we expect all Trustees to actively contribute to the Board, using their skills and experience to give strategic direction, evaluate performance, and ensuring the charity is run efficiently and effectively.

Trustees are expected to:-

  • attend up to 4 Board meetings per year and an annual planning day. We also have a finance committee which meets twice a year. Meetings are usually held on a Wednesday or Thursday 12-3pm
  • contribute advice and support on an ad hoc basis
  • attend events and promote the work of the charity
  • visit services on a quarterly basis

All travel and out-of-pocket expenses will be paid.  Applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

By becoming a Trustee of Style Acre you will play an important role in improving and enhancing the lives of the people we support and helping them to flourish in their local community.
