Over £5,000 raised in memory of Lucy
Lucy’s parents Nigel and Susan kindly asked for people to give to Style Acre in memory of their daughter Lucy, who passed away earlier this year. Lucy lived in a Style Acre supported living household in Didcot. Everyone who knew Lucy remembers her so fondly and misses her greatly.
How we will be remembering Lucy
It is so wonderful that through the collection over £5,000 has been raised in memory of Lucy. £1000 of the money raised will be used to create a beautiful memorial garden at Lucy’s household. There will be a fruit tree, seasonal flowers including lovely bulbs and a memorial bench.
Bethany, Lucy’s Support Manager said: “All of us at Hagbourne Road are so thankful for the generous donations to Green acre in memory of Lucy. Lucy meant so much to us and we cherish all the wonderful memories we have of her. Having a memorial area in the garden for Lucy means that she will continue to be here with us and that is so important to us all. Thankyou to everyone that has donated.”
Money raised for Green Acre
The additional donations and Gift Aid will be used to fund some new equipment and materials for the Green Acre gardening team. The team will also be involved in creating the memorial garden. They already know the garden, as they regularly go there to mow the lawn, prune the shrubs and do other garden maintenance jobs. They are delighted to be involved and the money raised will make a big difference to how effectively the team can work. They’ve already got a new lawnmower and will be purchasing a new shed to store their equipment and some new tools.
Lucy’s mum Susan met the team at Hagbourne Road recently to present them with their new lawnmower. Ambassador Daniel (and member of the Green Acre team) was delighted to receive this!
