Element Six supports Style Acre with Garden Bog project through the Ambassadors for Good Programme

Style Acre are delighted to be working with Element Six for the 5th year running as part of the Anglo American Group Foundation and De Beers Group ‘Ambassadors for Good’ (AfG) programme.

Here at Style Acre we support over 270 adults with learning disabilities and autism in Oxfordshire. We have 33 supported living houses in the community, three vibrant day hubs in Wallingford, Didcot and Banbury and three social enterprises where people we support undertake paid and voluntary placements. Style Acre also manage the Wantage Market Garden, in partnership with Sustainable Wantage and Oxfordshire County Council.

Element Six (E6), part of the De Beers Group, was successful in its application to the ‘Ambassadors for Good’ programme, securing £5,000 funding for our ‘Garden Bog’ initiative. The project will see the installation of a new, accessible, compostable toilet at Wantage Market Garden, along with new garden equipment, seating and refreshment facilities. This will provide improved facilities at the garden for both adults with learning disabilities and autism and the volunteer gardeners who work together at the garden.

The team at Element Six, a world-leading provider of synthetic diamonds and tungsten carbide solutions, based on the Harwell Science Campus, will also provide volunteering support to help with the planning and implementation of the Garden Bog project.

The ‘Ambassadors for Good’ programme enables Anglo American, De Beers Group and Element Six to accomplish community impact and employee engagement by providing meaningful and collaborative opportunities, making their teams feel inspired, connected and valued, so that they can contribute and build capability within their communities.

Anne-Marie Hicks, Fundraising and Marketing Manager , said: “We are delighted to be working again with Element Six through this year’s ‘Ambassadors for Good’ programme. We have a great and long-standing relationship with the E6 team, they are full of energy and passion and give so much. We can’t wait to get started.”

Hannah Trimble, Project Lead for the Ambassadors for Good Style Acre initiative, said: “The AfG programme provides a platform for our teams to engage with the local communities and tap into skills and expertise to help deliver projects which will be beneficial to those communities. We are looking forward to working with Style Acre again this year to improve the facilities at the Wantage market garden.”
