Element 6 help Style Acre go wild!

Wild Acre is a new Style Acre project that connects the people we support with wildlife in their gardens, neighbourhoods, and local communities.

Finding out more about wildlife helps people to spend time outdoors, learn new things, and connect with others – which all have huge benefits for mental health.

By helping wildlife to thrive in the gardens and neighbourhoods around our houses and hubs we can have a big impact on nature and the environment in Oxfordshire too!

Through our partnership with Element 6, we have been able to provide everyone with wildlife packs, containing items and activities to help wildlife thrive. The packs have been tailored to each house and hub depending on their interests – some include hedgehog houses, others have bug hotels, and so on!

The funding through Element 6’s Ambassadors for Good programme has also enabled us to work with Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) to run both a virtual wildlife session and a day at their Sutton Courtenay Education Centre.

Our wonderful volunteers from Element 6 recently spent an afternoon putting together the wildlife packs at our Wantage Market Garden, and we have been busy delivering these to everyone, with lots of excitement at being able to help birds, bugs, hedgehogs and many other animals to survive and thrive!
