Celebrating achievements and recognising our superstars

It has been a couple of weeks of celebration here at Style Acre.

Last week, our Banbury day hub, SABRe hosted an awards evening for the people we support, celebrating everyone’s achievements over the last year. We heard stories about the fantastic paid  and voluntary work that people we support are doing in Banbury and the achievements they have made and the skills and confidence they have developed and we heard about how kind and supporting people have been. With the final award being being the much anticipated achiever of the year.

There was a buzz in the room and everyone was excited to be there and to share their successes with family and friends. A wonderful evening that was made possible by the kind support of Finders Keepers Oxfordshire and the Rotary Club of Banbury.

Then, this week, we held our very first Style Acre Awards, where we recognised the people who work for us for the fantastic job they do at Style Acre and for the people we support. People were nominated by their colleagues, people we support and their families. It was lovely to hear the individual stories and reasons why people had been nominated and to celebrate this as a team.

The categories were

• Support Worker of the year
• Team of the year
• New to care
• Unsung hero
• Long service > 10 years
• Special contribution to Style Acre

A big thank you to everyone who nominated and thank you to the T2 bakers who provided such wonderful cakes for the afternoon tea.
