One of our supported living houses gets a fresh lick of paint during Oxfordshire’s volunteer month

A six-person team from HSBC UK swapped their day jobs and volunteered their time with us to give a fresh new look to one of our supported living houses.

The HSBC UK volunteers spent the day painting the communal areas of the house; refreshing and adding colour to the walls to make it more homely. The team from Style Acre also purchased new furnishings made available through Style Acre fundraising to complement the newly decorated rooms.

This was all made possible not only from the volunteers themselves who volunteered 48 hours between them but also by Reeds of Wantage who kindly donated all the painting materials for the project. It was a fantastic effort from everyone involved and will make a real difference to the two adults who live there, their families and the support team.

Anne-Marie Hicks, Fundraising and Marketing Manager at Style Acre said “The communal areas of the house were very plain, and some areas needed freshening up. We really wanted to make it more of a home and somewhere nice for those living there to relax. The team from HSBC UK have done an amazing job and we can’t thank them enough.”

Sharon Hoare, Local Director South East of England Region at HSBC UK said “We are delighted to be working with the team at Style Acre and to be able to make a difference to the lives of the people that they support. We are passionate about getting involved and helping with local communities and it was wonderful to be able to bring the team together for such a great cause.”
