I joined Style Acre in 2001 as part of the finance team. My background in finance started at a small accountancy firm whereby I trained and qualified as an Accountant.

Working for a charity is so different to the corporate world.  It is very challenging as the majority of the income is assessed by government, so it is nice to see that we have lots of generous donors who help to support the charity. Our running costs have to be efficiently controlled to enable us to operate and provide all of the services we offer to people we support, and this is a big part of my role.

Since joining Style Acre, the charity has grown considerably and it has been exciting to see new projects such as the Blewbury Tea Room and the Banbury projects take place, along with new houses and people. It’s great to see so many of the people we support living life to the full, and seeing their smiling faces and hearing the stories of all the activities that they do.
