Rachel and Chris have tea at Buckingham Palace!

Style Acre Ambassador Rachel Knapp and Chief Exec Chris Ingram enjoyed tea at Buckingham Palace yesterday.

The event was organised by Garfield Weston, a charitable trust which has donated £80,000 to Style Acre since 2010. In 2013, it awarded Style Acre £50,000 towards a new day hub in Banbury and in 2010 it donated £10,000 so that Style Acre could create the much loved Style Acre Tea Room in Blewbury, where Rachel works.

Working at the tearoom has not only given Rachel new skills, but has given Rachel a huge confidence boost who embraces opportunities – such as a recent 100k fundraising challenge. Rachel also works at Didcot Coronet Bingo and is part of the Style Acre dance troupe and choir, which perform over the summer months.  As a Style Acre Ambassador, Rachel attends events and undertakes public speaking on behalf of the charity. Style Acre is delighted to give Rachel this opportunity to attend the reception in recognition for her marvellous achievements and for everything she does for Style Acre.

Style Acre is one of 150 charities out of a possible 1900 chosen by Garfield Weston to attend this special reception “to celebrate Garfield Weston’s milestone of 60 years of grant making, having donated over £1 billion to causes across the UK”.
