Style Acre Skydive – Saturday July 1st, 2017

On Saturday 1st July eleven intrepid fundraisers jumped out an aeroplane to raise money for Style Acre. The day started early with the divers arriving at the airfield by 8am to check in and prepare for the jump. All our divers were given their time and were ready to take part in the once in a lifetime experience they had all been waiting for!

To jump safely the organisers need a clear, calm day. Thankfully, the day before weather reports said that that the day would start cloudy but clear by 11am however this was not the case. 11am came and went and the cloud did not go. Nerves were now starting to build as the jumps got pushed back, first by an hour, then two, then three. The cloud would not budge and there were fears the day might be cancelled. However, shorty after 1pm, having been waiting for almost four hours, the cloud finally cleared and the dive went ahead. All divers jumped 13,500 feet above Wallingford, before parachuting down onto the airfield.

We could not be more thankful to the brave fundraisers who jumped. We would like to say a massive thank you to:
Henry Antonian,
Naomi Carter,
Emily Gamon
Steph Heigold
Rowena Hines
Crina Hossu
Natalie Hyde
Grace Kerrigan
Thomas Reichmann
Livvi Rowe
Sarah Williams
In total they raised over £4,000 together which will go back into our services and enable us to continue to provide the services we do.
