Covid-19 Coronavirus

Statement from Chris Ingram, Chief Executive

Style Acre has been closely monitoring the situation around the outbreak and spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus. We are adhering to government and NHS guidance and the published coronavirus action plan that sets out what the health and social care system should do across the UK. We are working in partnership with Oxfordshire County Council and the Oxfordshire Association of Care providers to ensure people are as informed and safe as possible.

Style Acre has a robust contingency plan and we have been communicating updates to our teams on a daily basis. We have up-to-date information on both people we support and people we employ to determine who may be at higher risk should they contract the virus. We will ensure plans are in place to support all parties as best as is possible on an individual and service basis. We are constantly monitoring the activities people do and the role our day opportunity hubs can play, and we will update people as things undoubtedly change.

Style Acre is always vigilant around hygiene and infection control and has thorough policies and procedures in place, which have been further enhanced during this outbreak. We have also been issuing sensible advice on hand washing since the outbreak in January, alongside the provision of hand sanitiser gels and gloves. Unfortunately, like everyone else, we are facing the challenge of purchasing these items as stock levels decline. We are reinforcing the message that soap and water is as effective if used as advised.

We appreciate this is an unprecedented situation for our generation and there is a great deal of uncertainty for people. I would like to assure you that the health and well-being of the people we support and people we employ is of paramount importance to us.

We would like to thank everyone we employ for their commitment and dedication to the people we support and our charity. We know you are doing everything possible to minimise the risks of infection and continuing high quality levels of care and support at this time.

Volunteers

Our volunteers are incredibly important to the work that we do, and we value their time, compassion and dedication.

If you are a volunteer at Style Acre and are worried about the Covid-19 Coronavirus situation, have any underlying health conditions or feel you should take extra care during the current time, please speak with your line manager or Cheryl Claxton, Fundraising & Marketing Manager, via email or phone 01491 827593.

The safety and well-being of our volunteers remain paramount at this time. Thank you for your commitment and dedication.

Supporters

Thank you for your continued and much valued support. We face an unprecedented situation around fundraising and events over the next few months.

We will be limiting / postponing internal events during the current climate, and will update participants on event status for both internal and externally-ran events with as much notice as possible.

If you require advice about visiting our services, events that you are organising on our behalf, or events that Style Acre is taking part in or organising, please contact our fundraising team via email or phone 01491 827593.
